Spanish at Lamplighter

December 12, 2011

Hola a todos (Hello everybody),

As we approach the end of the year I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of your children. All of my students have done a great job with great effort and the results are positive. The Middle school students are very confident to talk about their school schedule, after school routine and activities they do during their free time. It is very rewarding to listen to them speaking more fluently and confidently. I know they will keep working as hard as they have been doing it.

The Upper Elementary students have been very busy working with numbers and doing some Math in Spanish! They have done some addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as well as some measuring of our body parts like their heads, arms, legs, waist and wrists among others. The students enjoy doing this activity.

Our Lower Elementary classes are finished learning the farm animals! This unit was a lot of fun; they enjoyed the games and the songs as part of our lessons. Now they are getting ready to jump on our new unit which is wild animals, but that will be at the beginning of next year.

The Early childhood students worked very hard with numbers and I am very proud of them. The kindergarteners just finished our lesson on the parts of the classroom and now we are refreshing a little bit our lessons on clothing.

Finally I just want to wish all the families in our school a great winter break and happy holidays! See you next year (hasta el proximo año).
